Serving as the Communications Director of the Afrikan Black Coalition (ABC), my role was multi-faceted, encompassing strategic leadership in digital platforms, media relations, and community engagement. As the program manager for Instagram, Facebook, the website, and the ABC Newspaper, I played a pivotal role in developing and executing the organization's marketing engagement strategy. Through innovative tactics, we achieved remarkable results, including a 64.9% increase in post interactions, a 46.9% increase in content interactions, and a significant 50-person follower increase in just 60 days. My responsibilities extended beyond digital realms as I identified media opportunities for internal and external communication, addressing alliances, political education, and minority wellness.
Collaborating with Black Student Programs, Political Organizing, and Political Education bureaus, I coordinated campaigns, marketing strategies, fundraising initiatives, advertising efforts, voting initiatives, and community engagement strategies. My comprehensive approach also involved overseeing various projects on education, mental health, civic engagement, and minority student retention. Utilizing my graphic design skills, I created compelling content for our initiatives, hosted informational sessions, and recorded tutorials to navigate virtual platforms.
