About Me
I'm Malia Henry, a San Diego State University master's candidate in Mass Communication and Digital Media. Dedicated, mission-driven, and strategically minded, I've spent seven years working across higher education, expanded learning, and experiential marketing, growing from program advisor to director to strategist.
A constant thread across every role has been connection. Connection to the organizations I represent and the communities they serve. I don't just build campaigns, I tell the stories of the people behind them.
Now I'm focused on the next chapter, shaping public relations campaigns as well as integrated marketing and communications strategy at a higher level, where storytelling meets impact.
Brand Design
Conceptualizing and executing brand materials that align with the vision and goals of each organization. Maintaining consistency across platforms, developing brand guidelines and collaborating directly with clients from concept to completion.
Logo Design
Crafting memorable brand symbols for small businesses and organizations using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Procreate. Ensures every logo is not just visually compelling but a strategic asset that builds recognition and establishes a unique identity in the market.
Social Media
Seven years of experience as a social media manager and Communications Director across multiple sectors. Creates and manages content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Vimeo and Hootsuite. Over 300 posts, videos and digital assets produced with a consistent focus on platform-specific strategy and brand alignment.
Program Planning
Translating concepts into well-organized events through strategic planning, partner negotiation and hands-on coordination, including training volunteers and interns, managing service providers and engaging both in-person and virtual audiences across streaming platforms simultaneously.
Spatial Computing
Hands-on experience producing immersive AR, VR and XR environments using Unity, Udon and VRChat, with a working understanding of UX principles and user behavior that informs how interactive experiences are designed, tested and deployed.
