As Communications Director, I had to pivot a large-scale in-person conference to a fully virtual format in three months due to COVID-19 . I managed the communication of that transition while maintaining engagement and conveying the event's value in an entirely new format.
Recreate the energy and impact of an in-person conference virtually for 800+ Afrikan/Black students across California. Facilitate peer workshops, keynote speeches and social activities through a seamless, accessible digital experience.
Built a detailed planning timeline covering platform selection, marketing strategy and speaker coordination. Developed an integrated marketing campaign to maximize outreach, established success metrics based on conference data and collaborated closely with the planning committee to ensure every element translated effectively to the virtual format.
